Congratulations to "The King," Richard Petty, who turns 75 today.

NASCAR's icon remains as popular now as he did while winning 200 NASCAR races – including a staggering 27 races in one season in 1967, 10 of them consecutively, a record that surely will never be equaled – and seven Cup Series championships in his epic career. He also won a record seven Daytona 500s and collected a record number of poles (127) and over 700 top-10 finishes in his 1,185 starts, including 513 consecutive starts from 1971–1989.

Retiring from racing in 1992, he since has focused on team ownership.
