Tony Stewart may be in line for a one-off return to Grand-Am's Rolex Series, when the Rolex Series joins NASCAR's Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in July.

Stewart told FOX Sports Southwest that he wouldn't want to deny anyone interested in racing the Nationwide race at the track an opportunity, but hinted he might want to run the IMS road course in Rolex Series competition.

"If I do anything, I'd like to run the Grand-Am race, to be honest," Stewart said. "We might be able to try and put something together for that, hopefully."

Stewart has competed in several Rolex 24s in Daytona Prototypes, and came within 20 minutes of winning the 2004 edition before his car's left-rear suspension broke. Stewart co-drove with Andy Wallace and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
