Germany's Bild newspaper reports that Michael Schumacher is scheduled to meet with his long-time business manager Willi Weber on Monday in Stuttgart – coincidentally (?) the home of Mercedes-Benz, with whom he has been linked for a potential Formula 1 comeback next season. The seven-time World Champion is currently vacationing in the United States following his appearance at the SKUSA SuperNationals karting event in Las Vegas and has steadfastly refused to deny or confirm the speculation about his future, although Bild claims he has purchased a special machine to build strength in his neck muscles.
Mercedes-Benz is still looking for a teammate to partner Nico Rosberg at the former Brawn Grand Prix team, in which it took a controlling interest last month, and the other available star, Kimi Raikkonen, took himself out of contention today by signing with Red Bull's World Rally Championship junior team.
Weber tried to damp down suggestions of a comeback by his client, telling Bild, "I cannot imagine that he goes to Mercedes. He only recently extended with Ferrari for another three years as adviser."
Then again, if Weber was about to begin negotiating a deal, he would say that, wouldn't he?
