Britain's Mirror reports that Mercedes-Benz has offered seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher his choice of roles with its new Formula 1 team, either in or out of the cockpit. According to the Mirror, "Mercedes is not only prepared to put him in the seat vacated by Jenson Button's move to McLaren but is also open to discussion on a variety of other roles whether in the cockpit, management or as a roving ambassador and adviser."
Speculation has been rife that the seven-time World Champion would come out of retirement to rejoin his old friend Ross Brawn at Mercedes, which has assumed majority ownership of the team that took Jenson Button to the World Championship this season. Nico Rosberg has been confirmed by the team for one race seat, but the other remains open following the departures of Button and Rubens Barrichello to McLaren and Williams, respectively.
