The Indianapolis Star reports that Indianapolis Motor Speedway officials have confirmed they are in discussions about hosting a round of the Rolex Grand-Am Series on the same weekend with the Brickyard 400 NASCAR race, as first reported by SPEED's Robin Miller, but that no deal has yet been done for NASCAR's road racing arm to join the program.

According to the Star, the biggest hurdle is the logistical problems involved in converting the facility from a road course configuration, which would be used for a Friday endurance race of Grand-Am's Rolex Series, to an oval for NASCAR on Saturday and Sunday.
