Jonny Reid has lost his V8 Supercars drive with Dick Johnson Racing and will be replaced by Chaz Mostert (LEFT).
Former A1GP star Reid moved into Australia's premier racing series with DJR this year, but struggled in the early rounds, with an 18th place at Pukekohe his best result so far.
DJR had a troubled winter and has so far trailed the pack, with Reid and team-mate Tim Blanchard qualifying among the final cars at each event of 2013.
Reid's replacement Mostert is a V8 Development Series frontrunner and Ford Performance Racing protege, and his DJR deal comes amid an increased technical partnership between the two squads.
Team boss Dick Johnson said he still had faith in Reid, but that it had been ambitious to bring him straight into the main V8 series after a career mostly in open-wheel cars, including Indy Lights and Auto GP as well as his A1GP stint with Team New Zealand.
"We have made this change to our driver line up quite early in the season but we know Chaz will be a great partner to Tim and the added input from FPR is the right move for DJR," said Johnson. "Make no doubt about it; Jonny Reid is a very talented driver. In hindsight, it may have been better to run him through a season in the Dunlop Series, but I have no doubt he will emerge again in this championship."
