After much speculation, the official entry list for the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series finale at Las Vegas has been released. The 18th and final race of the season features a 34-car field for the IZOD INDYCAR World Championships presented by Honda, the largest in series history and largest outside Indianapolis since 1997 at Las Vegas.
The same 29 who raced in Kentucky are back for the final sendoff to the current car at the 1.5-miler at Las Vegas.
Five additions come in the form of Paul Tracy, back with Dragon Racing for the first time since Edmonton, Davey Hamilton (Dreyer & Reinbold) and Jay Howard (Rahal Letterman Lanigan) in their first starts since Texas, Tomas Scheckter making his Sarah Fisher Racing debut and Alex Tagliani in the Bryan Herta Autosport with Sam Schmidt Motorsports No. 98 car.
Of the regulars, Team Penske has Helio Castroneves back with Guidepoint as a primary sponsor while Ryan Briscoe has IZOD on board. Target Chip Ganassi Racing features two Target liveries for Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti, which has been a rarity in 2011.
The rotating primary sponsor on the No. 22 Dreyer & Reinbold goes back to Dad's Root Beer for Townsend Bell. Andretti Autosport has a pair of new liveries for Marco Andretti (Dr Pepper) and Mike Conway (Team Grime Boss) adorning their cars.
Conquest Racing's entry is currently listed as TBA, although Dillon Battistini would figure to make his second start after Kentucky. The team's earlier full-season driver Sebastian Saavedra has been working to secure sponsorship for a potential return of his own.
