The shakedown for this year's Rally Great Britain has been moved from Thursday morning to Wednesday night due to fears of a tree disease being spread.
Shakedown was due to take place at Margam Park, as usual, on Thursday morning, but the organizers want to keep spectators out of the forest for as long as possible and have, therefore, decided to run it at the superspecial stage in Cardiff on Wednesday evening.
A source said: "The organizers are mindful of the potential spread of [tree disease] P. ramorum. The rally is not going into any infected areas, but they just don't want people to be walking around from forest to forest any more than is strictly necessary.
"Running shakedown on the Cardiff Bay barrage stage is not ideal for the drivers, but it's going to be a real treat for everybody in the city on Wednesday night."
