Graham Rahal still doesn't have a contract for the 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series with Newman/Haas/Lanigan, according to the
Indianapolis Star. The
Star says Rahal is the top choice of Gil de Ferran, who still hopes to join the IndyCar Series this year, although his team is currently shut down for lack of sponsorship.
The report added that Newman/Haas/Lanigan team could run two cars or three Indy cars this year, depending on what happens with Rahal, as Alex Lloyd and Hideki Mutoh are also expected to finalize deals with the team. Indy Lights racer Ana Beatriz, who is hoping to run selected IndyCar races this year, also attended the series' recent winter meetings in Indianapolis with de Ferran and partner Robert Clarke.
