Two late-day announcements affected the results of today's Firestone Indy Lights race and the qualifying for tomorrow's IndyCar Series race. First, Sebastian Saavedra was penalized 30 seconds for blocking Charlie Kimball on the final lap of the Indy Lights race, a penalty that -- given that the field was tightly bunched following a restart -- dropped him from fifth the 18th place.

Second, Graham Rahal's Newman/Haas/Lanigan Dallara-Honda failed to pass post-qualifying technical inspection and was docked 10 spots. Rahal will thus start from 15th spot in tomorrow's Camping World Grand Prix at the Glen.
