Race On LLC and Andretti Sports Marketing today confirmed details of their arrangement to promote and operate the Grand Prix of Baltimore on Labor Day weekend, Aug. 31-Sept. 2. The race contract was approved by a vote of the Baltimore City Board of Estimates this morning and announced at a news conference in Baltimore. Race On LLC, a group led by Baltimore businessmen J.P. Grant and Greg O'Neill, announced sanctioning agreements from the IZOD IndyCar Series and the American Le Mans Series for the event.
Tickets for the 2012 Grand Prix of Baltimore will go on sale Monday, May 28 at the official event website: http://www.RaceOnBaltimore.com and all Ticketmaster outlets.
"We're working under an aggressive timeline, but we're very pleased with the rapid progress being made on the logistical and business fronts," said Grant, a Race On manager who is also the founder, president and CEO of Columbia, Md.-based Grant Capital Management. It's our goal to deliver a product in which all Baltimoreans – and all race fans – can take great pride."

Andretti Sports Marketing LLC, a company led by racing legend Michael Andretti, will provide all operations, sales, marketing, logistics and publicity efforts for Race On LLC. Andretti's business and operations team has significant experience promoting major racing events, and has resurrected previously struggling events in Toronto, St. Petersburg, Fla., and the Milwaukee IndyFest at the historic Milwaukee Mile.

Kevin Healy will be the Managing Director of the Grand Prix of Baltimore for Andretti Sports Marketing. Healy, a 30-year veteran of the airline industry, is also managing director of Milwaukee IndyFest.
The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron at the Grand Prix of Baltimore will race Saturday, September 1, with a national network telecast on ABC. The IZOD IndyCar race will air live on the NBC Sports Network Sunday afternoon, Sept. 2.
