M-Sport's Ford Fiesta R5 will make its World Rally Championship debut on Rally Finland at the end of July. Reigning WRC Academy champion Elfyn Evans will drive the car on the Jyvaskyla-based event.
More Fiesta R5s are expected to be seen on later rounds of the WRC with almost 20 orders taken for the British-built cars.
"It's mega to be going to Finland in the car," said Evans, who has already given the R5 its competitive debut on a national rally in Britain. "I've done Finland twice before and after struggling the first time around, I won the Academy there last year and – because I didn't do Rally GB last year – that one was probably my favorite event.
"It's a dream come true to take a four-wheel-drive rally car like the Fiesta R5 to Finland."
Prior to Finland, Thierry Neuville will drive the Fiesta R5 non-competitively on the biggest rally in his Belgian homeland, the European Rally Championship qualifying Ypres Rally at the end of June.
