Quimera Responsible Racing has partnered wiith Formula Drift for an art contest to design the color scheme for its forthcoming livery for its forthcoming All Electric Drift Car (AEDC), the first all-electric car which will compete in the category of drifting. The winning livery will be unveiled at the final round of the Pro Championship of Formula Drift.
The prize consists of $5,000 cash and a trip for two to the unveiling of the car (total prize value of $30,000). The contest is open now and ends May 12, 2012. The design voted most popular by the public will also receive an honorary mention.
Quimera Responsible Racing is a joint venture between Quimera, IMSA and the American Le Mans Series, which aims to launching the next generation of sustainable motorsport, a global non-fossil fuel based championship, which will take place by the end of 2013. This partnership is expected to develop further by empowering R&D activities with both new and existing technologies, therefore emphasizing motorsport's essential role as a test bed for the automotive sector, technology transfer and other key potential applications.
QuimeraRR is working on the advancement of different technologies and categories of this championship. The AEDC, developed by QuimeraRR and Alex Letteriello, is the first all-electric prototype designed for drifting competition.
