Jari-Matti Latvala's bid for Acropolis Rally victory appears to be over after the Finn had to stop and change a damaged wheel on stage 14.
The Ford driver had been two seconds behind Sebastien Loeb's Citroen in a close lead battle until the incident, in which he lost over three minutes and dropped to fourth.
"We have changed the right rear tyre. We got a puncture," Latvala explained.
"It was my mistake. I went slightly wide in the beginning of the stage, I hit a bank. It didn't feel hard - it was a little touch - but I think something broke the tyre.
"Usually you should be able to go quite a long way with a slow puncture, but unfortunately I broke the wheel."
Loeb now holds a 21.9s advantage over Latvala's team-mate Petter Solberg in second place.
