According to Germany's Auto Motor und Sport, Alain Prost is at the head of Renault's short list to replace embattled team principal Flavio Briatore, should the latter be obliged to leave at the conclusion of the FIA's investigation of the 2008 Singapore crash conspiracy theory. Prost, who was himself fired by Renault after failing to win the World Championship for the team in 1983, and went on to win four world titles with McLaren, is said to be Renault management's preferred pick over Prodrive boss David Richards as a possible replacement for Briatore.
