Nicolas Prost will join Lotus for Formula 1's young driver test at Yas Marina later this year.
The son of four-time World Champion Alain Prost, who is a reserve driver for the team, will make his first competitive appearance with Lotus during the three-day test at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix venue. Prost Jr. will prepare for the test by driving a Renault R30 from 2010 at Navarra in Spain this weekend.
"This is a fantastic chance for me to gain experience at the highest level of motorsport, and I'm extremely grateful to the team for handing me this opportunity," said Prost, who has raced almost exclusively in sports cars since winning the 2008 Euro Series 3000 title. "I've been working with the team for a number of months already but this will be my first time driving the R30 in a competitive environment, so I'm aiming to make the most of my time on track while hopefully also providing the team with some useful feedback for the future."
Lotus will announced the rest of its lineup for the young driver test in the coming weeks.
