Andy Priaulx, BMW, 2011

Andy Priaulx will return to the Race of Champions this year.

The three-time World Touring Car champion will compete in the RoC itself, and will also partner Jenson Button in the Nations' Cup event at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf on Dec. 3-4.

"I love this event. It brings the best and worst out in all of us," said Priaulx, who is now part of BMW's successful GT lineup. "We have great fun and there are no egos, with everyone treated the same however many championships you have to your name.

"However, once we get into the cars then the competitive spirit kicks in and all you want to do is beat everyone else. The organizers have joked that Jenson and myself could be Team Guernsey [both live on the island], rather than Team GB, and I am sure when we meet up on the island we shall discuss how we can beat our arch rivals," he said.

Priaulx has a strong record in the RoC, having made the semi-finals of the individual event three times. Partnering first Button and then Jason Plato, he has taken Team GB to the runner-up spot in the Nations' Cup for the past two years.
