Alexandre Premat has crashed the #3 Audi R15 out of eighth place on the third lap of the Le Mans 24 Hours.

The Frenchman had been passed by Stefan Mucke in the #007 Lola Aston Martin on the first lap of the race and was giving chase to the German when he ran wide exiting the fast right-hand kink at Indianapolis corner. He lost control of the car under braking for the left-hand part of the corner and slid straight on, over the gravel and made light contact with the barrier.

Premat managed to reverse the car out of the wall and return it the pits. He has since rejoined the race in 51st place, two laps down.
