Former Audi driver Alexandre Premat has targeted a drive with BMW when the manufacturer returns to the DTM in 2012.
Premat was fired by Audi ahead of the DTM finale last season, after he ran the New York Marathon while he was supposed to be recovering from a huge crash at Adria. The Frenchman is currently without a drive for 2011, but he hopes that his experience in the DTM will appeal to BMW.
"My aim is to get back into the DTM in 2012," Premat told this week's AUTOSPORT. "I like the championship, I like the cars, I like the platform. I think it suits my driving style.
"There is only BMW coming in for now, so I will get in contact with them. I have four years of experience, so maybe it's good for them to have a driver who has driven in DTM."
