Ryan Hunter-Reay IndyCar championship contender Will Power believes that current points leader Ryan Hunter-Reay is the best driver in the series at the moment.

Hunter-Reay completed a hat-trick of wins two weeks ago in Toronto to take the championship lead from Power. The Australian says that Hunter-Reay is reaping the benefits of continuity with the Andretti Autosport team, but also pointed to the American's versatility. His three wins came on a short, flat oval (Milwaukee), a short banked oval (Iowa) and a street circuit (Toronto).

"He's had a bit of continuity the last three years," Team Penske's Power said. "And really, he's always been strong. This year, he has definitely been more consistent.

"Every weekend or every track you went to, you could always count on him to [be in contention to] win, and the only difference now is he's putting it all together and he's executing week in, week out. In my opinion, he's the strongest guy in IndyCar racing right now."

Hunter-Reay currently has a 34-point lead over Power going into this weekend's race in Edmonton.
