Practice for the Kansas IndyCar Series round has been delayed due to extremely poor weather conditions at the track. A heavy hailstorm greeted the teams this morning, and the weather is forecast to remain unpleasant throughout the day.

Two practice sessions had been scheduled today, along with qualifying for Saturday afternoon's race. The Indy Racing League has yet to announce how it could alter the weekend schedule, although the open Sunday date provides some leeway.

The Kansas event, round four of the 2010 season, is the first oval event of this year's championship, and with the usual preseason oval test put back to the first week of May, the weather disruption is a blow for teams in need of mileage on the speedways. Rookies Takuma Sato, Mario Romancini, Bertrand Baguette and Simona de Silvestro did manage to test at the track earlier this week, though.
