Although there have been no official announcements, Italian media reports are claiming today that Pirelli has been chosen to be F1's sole tire supplier in 2011 replacing Bridgestone.
Autosprint and Italiaracing both report today that the Milan-based tire maker has been selected by the teams and F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone to replace Bridgestone, which is pulling out of the sport at the end of the year. Pirelli and Michelin had been vying for the contract, along with several smaller tire companies.
