Vitaly PetrovVitaly Petrov will be the first man to try out Renault's new R31 car when it tests for the first time in Valencia next week. The Russian is scheduled to drive on the opening day of F1's first preseason test on Feb. 1, before teammate Robert Kubica takes over duties for the other two days.

Renault is due to unveil its R31 in Valencia on Jan. 31, with the car having been fired up for the first time in the team's Enstone factory on Monday.

The team has also confirmed that Kubica and Petrov will then share the remainder of the preseason testing duties, with both drivers getting two days each at the following tests in Jerez, Barcelona and Bahrain.
