Sports car legend Henri Pescarolo has delayed the debut of his new LMP1 contender until the Le Mans 24 Hours.
His team had planned to race its new Pescarolo-Judd 03, which is based around the monocoque and suspension from last year's Aston Martin AMR-One, at the Spa 6 Hours on May 5. However, it will not be ready in time for the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, which means Pescarolo team will be forced to give the car its race debut in the 24 Hours in June.
The late start date for the project was blamed by Pescarolo for the postponement. He explained there would be no chance to test properly before the Spa event.
The team ran its 2011-specification Pescarolo 01 at the Sebring 12 Hours WEC opener in March. Teams were given dispensation to run last year's cars for one race only.
Pescarolo will still be on the grid at Spa with the Dome-Judd S102.5 coupe, which it will also race at Le Mans.
