Sergio Perez lamented the lack of running on his first day of testing of 2011 at Valencia on Wednesday.
The Sauber driver suffered some issues with the rear bodywork of his car in the morning, losing him some valuable track time. He was then forced to stay in the garage for a long time as the team looked into a power train issue that was still not solved at the end of the session. Perez managed 42 laps during the day and finished down as 10th quickest.
"It was a difficult day with not much running and we obviously could not complete our program," said the Mexican rookie. "But, for me, it was still good to get my first laps in the new car, and I am beginning to feel confident with it. I'm looking forward to tomorrow and hope we can do a lot of running with proper setup work."
