The Indianapolis Star reports that Penske Racing, which switched to the Grand-Am Rolex Series this year from the American Le Mans Series, is expected to close down that program in 2010 in favor of running a third IndyCar Series entry for Will Power. The Australian, who is expected to be fully recovered from his back injuries in time for next season, ran a third Penske car this year crewed by the team's Grand-Am squad. Penske's Daytona Prototype, driven by Porsche factory drivers Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard, finished tied for seventh in the Rolex Series standings this season.
