Pedrosa quickest again in Donington session #2
Dani Pedrosa has led the way once again in the second and final free MotoGP practice session at a sunny Donington Park ahead of today's qualifying.
The factory Honda rider, who was also the quickest man yesterday, set his best time of 1m28.787s in the final minute of the one-hour session. That left fellow Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo behind, after the two rivals had been leading the timesheets with the exact same time. Lorenzo, who did not improve with his Yamaha in the final three minutes, had to settle for second, 0.17 sec behind Pedrosa.
Third quickest was Casey Stoner, a further 0.139sec behind, with his works Ducati never really challenging for top spot. By contrast, world champion Valentino Rossi led the way for most of the first two thirds of the session, but his challenge faltered in the final 20 minutes and he had to be content with fourth best.
Colin Edwards was fifth quickest with his Tech 3 Yamaha, ahead of the Hondas of Toni Elias (with the Gresini entry) and Andrea Dovizioso (with the works bike).
Hayate Kawasaki's Marco Melandri was eighth fastest, followed by LCR Honda's Randy de Puniet and Pramac Ducati's Mika Kallio.
