Dani Pedrosa believes he can still get on terms with Casey Stoner in the Aragon Grand Prix if he can make some final tweaks to his Honda's setup.
Although Stoner has set an extremely fast pace all weekend, Pedrosa has not let him get away, beating the Australian in Friday morning practice and taking second in final practice and qualifying. In all sessions so far, Stoner has started out with a massive advantage before being reeled in by Pedrosa.
Asked if he felt Stoner was beatable in the race, Pedrosa replied: "I will try, of course. I think he's going very well here. He's doing a good job."
The Spaniard said he still needed to fine-tune his setup before he could be confident of attacking his teammate.
"We are trying the set the bike up but we're still having some issues," Pedrosa explained. "I hope that we can get a good setting or some improvements for tomorrow and get a little bit more feeling so we can improve our pace and lap times and get closer to him.
"We're trying to do the best job we can and hopefully tomorrow we can do it. We'll just try to make it happen tomorrow."
