Pedrosa delighted with improvement
Dani Pedrosa declared himself extremely happy to make it on to the front row for the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez.
The 23-year-old Spaniard, who only just reached the top 10 in Friday practice, improved significantly to qualify second on his factory Honda, just five hundredths of a second adrift of polesitter Jorge Lorenzo.
"Yesterday wasn't good but today we've improved a lot so I'm happy," Pedrosa told BBC TV.
"I'm very happy to be on the front row for my home race. Today I think we did a much better job, but there are still some things in the bike, which I need to improve. I just hope for a good race tomorrow."
Pedrosa's grid spot was his best of the year, his previous best having been a disappointing 11th place start in Japan last weekend.
