Dani Pedrosa appears to have escaped his Silverstone qualifying crash with bruising, but is undergoing precautionary x-rays.

The Honda rider fell under braking for Brooklands corner during his final pole bid, and was briefly caught under his motorcycle as it continued toward the run-off.

Pedrosa had difficulty getting up and was initially taken away by stretcher, but a statement from the officials said he had been diagnosed with "contusions" to both knees and was now undergoing x-rays.

Despite the accident, he was able to hold on to his third place on the grid, behind Jorge Lorenzo and Randy de Puniet.
