Mattia Pasini will be back in MotoGP action ahead of the Portuguese Grand Prix, the Italian testing for the works Ducati team at Mugello. Pasini had already tested a Ducati with the satellite Pramac team following the Czech Grand Prix in August.
The Italian, currently fifth in the 250cc championship, will now join the works squad for a three-day test at Mugello from tomorrow. He will be working alongside test rider Vittoriano Guareschi under the supervision of Filippo Preziosi.
"The Ducati technicians, impressed by the Italian rider and his way of working, decided together with Mattia to do another test, and therefore include him in this week's pre-planned testing at Mugello," said Ducati in a statement.
The test is likely to trigger speculation about the return of former champion Casey Stoner, who is expected to be back in action in Portugal after having missed the last three races.
