DTM newcomer Darryl O'Young says he is looking forward to making his debut in the series on the streets of Shanghai next weekend.
The World Touring Car Championship racer has been drafted into Audi's lineup for the season finale to replace Alexandre Premat, who was dismissed by the manufacturer this week.
O'Young has raced for Audi before, finishing second in the Sepang 12 Hours in August with former Le Mans winners Frank Biela and Marco Werner. But the 30-year-old is aware that he faces a big challenge to get up to speed in the DTM.
"I'm proud to have the chance of competing for Audi in Shanghai," said O'Young. "This is a fantastic opportunity. Competing in the R8 LMS in the Sepang 12 Hours was a great experience. Of course, I realize that the Audi A4 DTM is a completely different car.
"Although I won't have much time to get used to my new environment, I'll do my best to make a good showing."
