Mads Ostberg has vowed to pull out all the stops in his attempt to play himself back into the lead fight of Rally Sweden.
The Norwegian, who finished second on this event last year, struggled with the setup of his Adapta Ford Fiesta RS WRC through the afternoon and lies just over half a minute off leader Jari-Matti Latvala.
Ostberg said: "I tried to get the car to turn in better this afternoon by raising the rear end. It didn't work so well. It didn't feel right. It's been a little bit frustrating today, but tomorrow I am going to give everything I have got to get back in the battle.
"This morning I felt comfortable in the car and I felt I had some more to give, but then we didn't really get the chance in the afternoon."
Ostberg made the perfect start to the morning, posting the fastest time on the Mitandersfors stage which took the event from Sweden and across the border into his Norwegian homeland.
