Ocean Racing Technology boss Tiago Monteiro is hopeful that Jon Lancaster can return to the team's GP2 lineup, despite the fact that the Briton has had to miss this weekend's Bahrain round.
Brendon Hartley has been drafted into Ocean's ranks for this weekend to replace Lancaster, who is working on putting a deal together for the rest of the season. And Monteiro believes there is a chance he could swap the drivers again for next weekend's second Bahrain event to get the 23-year-old back in the car.
"We have been working hard with Jon and his group of partners to finalize a long-term deal," said Monteiro. "But things couldn't be resolved in time for this race. We're still talking, though, and hope Jon will be back in the car at some stage. Right now, we're planning to put him in for the second Bahraini event next weekend.
"But it depends on the sponsorship side. Sunday and Monday will be very important days."
