Oliver Oakes Oliver Oakes will be absent from the British Formula 3 grid for the third round of the season at Rockingham this weekend.

The 2006 McLaren Autosport BRDC Award finalist has fallen into a dispute with his Carlin Motorsport team and will not be able to race with the squad until the issues are resolved.

Carlin's sales director Martin Stone said: "We've got a few things we need to sort out and hopefully we can get a resolution because he's a good lad."

Oakes made his F3 debut last season with a partial campaign in a Eurotek Dallara, which included a pole position in the finale at Donington Park.

But the formerly Red Bull-backed racer has struggled so far this term, despite racing for the championship's top team. He has been quick in testing, but has found himself mired in the bottom reaches of the top 10 come race day.
