New Hampshire TV channel WMUR reports that New Hampshire Motor Speedway owner Bruton Smith is threatening to move the track's June NASCAR Sprint Cup race to another of his Speedway Motorsports venues next year, if a dispute with the nearby town of Loudon over the cost of security provided by local police is not resolved. Smith wants Loudon to reduce the cost of security from $170,000 to $65,000. Thus far, city officials are holding firm.
"No, we're not prepared to do that," Loudon Selectman Roger Maxfield told WMUR of the price reduction. "The answer is no, we won't."
