Tech 3's Colin Edwards has topped second free practice for the French MotoGP at Le Mans as rain hit once again the Bugatti circuit.
The satellite Yamaha rider set his best time of 1m34s996 midway through the one-hour session, minutes before the running was again interrupted by the weather as it did during yesterday's opening practice.
Spaniard Dani Pedrosa was second fastest with his Repsol Honda, albeit almost half a second behind the American, followed by compatriot Jorge Lorenzo with the works Fiat Yamaha.
Ducati Marlboro Casey Stoner was fourth quickest, ahead of yesterday's fastest man Andrea Dovizioso on the works Honda.
Rizla Suzuki pair Chris Vermeulen and Loris Capirossi ended the session in sixth and seventh position, ahead of LCR Honda's Randy de Puniet, Tech 3's James Toseland, and Marco Melandri on the Hayate Kawasaki.
Series leader Valentino Rossi could do no better than eleventh with his factory Yamaha, while former arch-rival Sete Gibernau crashed his Hernando Ducati and fractured his collarbone.
