All bar two of the 14 Daytona spectators hospitalized after Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Series race incident have now been released. The remaining two are still in a stable condition at Halifax Health.
The injuries were sustained when Kyle Larson's Chevrolet flew into the debris fence in a last-lap pile-up on Saturday. His car's engine went through the fence while a wheel landed in the grandstand. Two of the injured were in a critical condition at first, with one sustaining life-threatening injuries. But both were upgraded to "stable" status by Sunday morning.
A further 14 people were treated on site at the Daytona medical center.
