Stirling Moss has thanked all those who have sent their best wishes to him following his recent accident in which he fell out of an elevator, and said he is well on the road to recovery.
The racing legend broke both his ankles after falling down an elevator shaft at his house, and is still in a hospital recovering. In a video message he sent from his hospital bed, Moss said his condition had improved and he was looking forward to returning home.
"I would like to thank everybody out there who was kind enough to write to me or email me after the shunt I had at the weekend," he told his official website. "I am glad to say I am feeling better, I'm not feeling great, but I am feeling better and hopefully [up] within a week or so.
"Then I will have to take it easy, which is a bit of a bore, but still... I will be bouncing back as soon as I possibly can."
