Edoardo Mortara will attempt to add GT victory to his pair of Macau Formula 3 wins when he returns to the Asian street circuit next month.
The Audi DTM rookie will compete in the GT Cup race that supports the headlining F3 Grand Prix and World Touring Car Championship finale. Mortara, 24, has never raced a GT car before, but will drive an Audi R8 LMS run by the Customer China Racing Team, at the street circuit on Nov. 20.
"I'm already massively looking forward to this race weekend," said the Italian, who lies eighth in the DTM standings for the Rosberg Audi squad and has won the Macau F3 race for the past two years.
"I'm obviously happy that I can go to Macau again. The grand prix was always a highlight for every driver in Formula 3, a type of world final. To go back now is a great opportunity since I've scored so many excellent results there."
"Throughout my career I've always scored good results on street circuits, be it Pau, at the Norisring or Macau. I'm optimistic. I've competed around this track already four times with the Formula 3. I know the line and obviously also the details that make the difference."
