Mario Moraes will return to the IndyCar Series at Sonoma's Infineon Raceway this weekend after missing the last race at Mid-Ohio following the death of his father.
The 20-year-old Brazilian has shown good speed in his rookie season with KV Racing, qualifying inside the top eight six times already, and is keen to get back in the car.
"First of all, I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers over the past two weeks," he said. "This has been a very difficult time for my family, but we are all very thankful for the support we have received. I am looking forward to getting back into the KV Racing car this weekend. Racing is something my father loved and I just want to dedicate myself to being the best driver I can in his memory."
