Tiago Monteiro is the only driver to have been penalised as a result of BMW's protest against the SEATs in the Marrakesh World Touring Car Championship round.
The results had remained provisional after BMW Team Germany filed a protest to determine whether the SEATs had adhered to the restrictions in turbo boost pressure imposed for 2009.
The FIA technical delegate did not find any transgressions by the cars of Yvan Muller, Gabriele Tarquini and Jordi Gene, but declared that Monteiro's car had exceeded the boost limit.
"The respect of the limit on the supercharged air pressure imposed by the FIA Touring Car Bureau (decision WTCC_24.02.2009_5) was checked, taking into account the 0.4 bar tolerance," said a WTCC statement.
"The limit was not exceeded by three of the cars, while the ECU of Monteiro's car recorded two peaks above the limit. Therefore the Stewards decided to exclude the Portuguese from the second race, in which he classified seventh."
The decision means that Franz Engstler and Tom Coronel move up into seventh and eighth places in the second Marrakesh race results, but that SEAT's podiums at the event with Muller, Tarquini and Gene are unaffected.
Reigning champion Muller therefore retains his 12-point lead over Tarquini in the standings, with Schnitzer BMW's Augusto Farfus the best non-SEAT driver in fifth place, 20 points behind Muller.
