A Mercedes 300SL fitted with modern AMG running-gear is to be sold at auction.
The car has an original shell but has been fitted with a 6.0-liter V8 engine and four-speed automatic transmission.
The unit produces 375hp and the car's top speed is limited to 155mph. Only four left-hand-drive and four right-hand-drive coupes (and four roadsters) were built by AMG, says RM Auction.
Each was made to specific customer order and as such, no brochures exist. The version being sold at the auction was built in 2006 for an undisclosed buyer.
Stopping power is supplied by C63 AMG discs, which sit behind AMG 17in alloys with 235/245 tires. The rest is a mix of E-class and SL mechanicals. Inside, there are modern sports seats and a Becker radio with iPod connection and a CD changer.
The 300SL is to be auctioned by RM Auctions and Sotheby's at the Automobiles of London sale on October 28 with an estimate of around $575,000.
