The Milwaukee Mile appears certain to return to the IndyCar Series calendar next year, with the Wisconsin oval set to host the announcement of the 2011 calendar on Friday.
Milwaukee was the last of the classic one-mile ovals visited by IndyCar, but lost its date this year after financial issues at the track.
The Indy Racing League has already announced that next year's calendar will contain a new street race in Baltimore and a return for the one-mile oval at Loudon, last used for Indy cars in 1998. Las Vegas Motor Speedway has been pushing hard for a date, while there have also been rumors of a return for Auto Club Speedway in Fontana. The Homestead, Kansas and Chicagoland ovals have been tipped to lose their dates as part of the reshuffle.
