Paul Menard has secured his Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup seat for the long term after family company and primary sponsor Menards agreed a new multi-year deal with the squad.
Menard has driven for RCR since 2011, taking his maiden Cup win in that year's Indianapolis round. He is currently 10th in the standings after a consistent start to his 2013 campaign.
Team boss Richard Childress welcomed the news of Menard's return.
"It is great to have Paul Menard back in the No. 27 Menards Chevrolet as our driver," he said. "He has shown his ability to be consistent, competitive and win at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series level."
Menard is currently one of three full-time RCR Cup drivers, alongside Jeff Burton and Kevin Harvick. The latter has already announced that he will leave in 2014, when he is expected to join Stewart-Haas.
