Nigel Melker topped the second free practice session for the GP3 field in Turkey, where just one tenth of a second covered the top four cars.

Mucke driver Melker was in contention at the top of the time sheets throughout the session, and he was the only driver able to respond with an even better lap whenever a new name appeared in first place. The last driver to depose the Dutchman at the top was Lewis Williamson, but the Scot was not there for long before Melker once again retook the place.

Williamson would end the session second for Arden, just 0.031sec adrift of Melker. His young Kiwi teammate Mitch Evans then popped up with an impressive lap late in the session to take third, and he was only 0.054sec behind first place.

Tech 1's Andrea Caldarelli overcame an early-session spin to take fourth, ahead of Rio Haryanto (Manor) and Michael Christensen (Addax). Status teammates Antonio Felix da Costa and Alexander Sims were next up, while morning pacesetter Valtteri Bottas (ART) could not convert his wet weather speed into pace in the dry and could only manage ninth.
