Nigel Melker was quickest for the Mucke team on the final day of GP3 preseason testing at Catalunya. The second-year GP3 driver, who is also racing in the Formula 3 Euro Series this year, set the pace in the morning with a 1m37.882s lap, a comfortable three tenths ahead of Alexander Sims in the leading Status entry.
Nico Muller was third for Jenzer, with Arden's rookie Mitch Evans an impressive fourth, followed by Adrian Quaife-Hobbs (Manor) and Formula Renault graduate Marlon Stockinger (Atech CRS).
Quaife-Hobbs moved to the front in the slower afternoon session, with Muller, Rio Haryanto in another Manor car, and Wednesday pacesetter Valtteri Bottas (ART) next up. Evans ran strongly again to take fifth behind Mucke's Michael Christensen.
The second GP3 season starts during the Turkish Grand Prix weekend next month.
