The FIA has lowered the pitlane speed limit in both qualifying and the race for the Australian Grand Prix.
The speed limit is usually 100 kilometers per hour (62mph) for qualifying and the race, but after a request from Formula 1 safety delegate Charlie Whiting it has been decided that it will be kept at the 60kph (27mph) cap that is usually in place for practice.
The move is unlikely to have much affect on tire strategy for the Albert Park event, with teams already believing they will only need to stop once in the race.
