Kris Meeke's hopes of completing a hat-trick of Intercontinental Rally Challenge wins took a knock when he suffered a broken wheel at the shakedown for the Ypres Rally in Belgium this morning.

Despite the broken right-rear wheel, Meeke's Peugeot UK 207 S2000 still posted the second fastest time for the all-asphalt event which starts this evening. The Kronos Racing team which runs the 207 changed a broken lower wishbone on the car and sent Meeke back into the three-mile stage.

Skoda driver Jan Kopecky and Thierry Neuville, who has been selected to drive the BFGoodrich 207 S2000 on this event, were joint quickest, a tenth of a second ahead of Meeke, who shared his second fastest time with Freddy Loix.
