Kris Meeke will lead into the first fully fledged stages of the Rally Scotland tomorrow morning after a commanding performance on the opening Scone Palace super specials.

The Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion was comfortably faster than his rivals on both runs through the damp 1.5kilometer stage around the palace grounds, and his Peugeot UK 207 is already four seconds clear of closest challenger Guy Wilks' Skoda.

Adam Gould is third in the second Peugeot, albeit 11sec down on Meeke, and just 0.7sec ahead of Alister McRae's Proton. Mitsubishi Alastair Fisher is tied for fourth with McRae in the leading Group N car.

The rally commences in earnest on Friday morning with the Craigvinean stage. Extremely wet weather has been forecast for leg one.
